Pete's Picks: NFL Week 10

Peyton Manning is on track for his fifth MVP award.
Finally, I had the big picks week that I was looking for the entire first half of the season. I'm now back over .500 and not looking back.

Last Week: 11-3

Regular Season: 66-63-3

Oakland Raiders at Baltimore Ravens

Danell Ellerbe is stepping in splendidly for Ray Lewis, but Joe Flacco has a combined 300 passing yards in the last two games.

The Pick: Raiders (+7)

Denver Broncos at Carolina Panthers

Peyton Manning has five straight games with three passing touchdowns, and looks every bit in line for his fifth MVP award.

The Pick: Broncos (-4)

New York Giants at Cincinnati Bengals

Ah yes, telling another player that he'd "better duck" is the exact thing to say in today's concussion-sensitive NFL. Antrelle Rolle just lost any benefit of the doubt he'll get on his next big hit.

The Pick: Giants (-3.5)

Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins

After Hard Knocks and the Chad Ochocinco drama, I'd like to meet the person outside Miami that had the Dolphins in the playoff picture at this point of the season.

The Pick: Dolphins (-6.5)

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings only touchdowns in these two teams' first meeting came on a kickoff and punt return.

The Pick: Lions (-3)

Buffalo Bill at New England Patriots

Combined 1st half score of the last 2 games between these teams: Bills 35, Patriots 21. 2nd half: Patriots 80, Bills 14

The Pick: Patriots (-13.5)

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints

Even with the worst defense in the league, the Saints have the Falcons' number in the Super Dome.

The Pick: Saints (+1)

San Diego Chargers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With
28+ points in four straight games, the Bucs sneakily have one of the best offenses in the league.

The Pick: Bucs (-3)

New York Jets at Seattle Seahawks

I don't see how Mark Sanchez and the Jets receiving corps can have any success any Seattle's secondary.

The Pick: Seahawks (-5.5)

Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagless

Some have dubbed this Desperation Bowl, which could not be more appropriate. The Eagles offensive line a disaster right now.

The Pick: Cowboys (-1.5)

St. Louis Rams at San Francisco 49ers

The St. Louis defense is going to make this game a lot closer than you'd expect.

The Pick: Rams (+13)

Houston Texans at Chicago Bears

I previewed this game for Pro Football Focus. I trust Matt Schaub to protect the ball against the Bears' explosive defense, and the Texans to get their first big primetime win.

The Pick: Texans (+1.5)

Kansas City Chiefs at Pittsburgh Steelers

I don't know how ESPN chooses its Monday Night Football games, but they've had a few too many of these complete stinkers over the last couple of years.

The Pick: Steelers (-12.5)

Happy football, everyone.
