KID - Week 2 Power Rankings

Each year, eleven of my best friends and I participate in a keeper fantasy football league, dubbed the "Keeper? I Don't Even Like Her!" league (KID, for short).  This post, rankings the teams in our league after their week 1 performance, is for them.

We held our draft nine days before the lockout ended, and the values of some players have changed drastically in the six weeks since.  In addition to a quick synopsis of where your team stands, I've also highlighted the players that have gone up and down in value the most since July 26th.

1. Rice and Breesy 1-0, 154 points: In case you couldn't tell from the team name, Ray Rice and Drew Brees will keep Sumit in it all season.
Up: Free agent Reggie Bush went from a crowded Saints backfield to the feature role in Miami.
Down: At the time of the draft, rumors were that DeAngelo Williams was headed to the Broncos.  Instead, he will continue to compete with the equally talented Jonathan Stewart in Carolina.

2. Room For Regret 1-0, 158 points: Tom Brady, Andre Johnson, Dez Bryant, LeSean McCoy, Antonio Gates...Kevin's starting roster has few holes, although his bench is very weak.
Up: Joseph Addai fell to the ninth round of our draft, but now he returns as the number one running back in Indianapolis.
Down: Kevin drafted Jordy Nelson and James Jones, not thinking they would both remain in Green Bay to steal targets from each other.

3. A Few Good Chicks 1-0, 149 points: Will started with a solid keeper core of Philip Rivers, Calvin Johnson and Matt Forte.  Having Mike Tolbert on his bench isn't bad either.
Up: My love for Tim Hightower this season is well-documented.  Will took him with a 13th round flier, and shortly thereafter the Redskins tabbed him to be their feature back.
Down: Seattle's Mike Williams had an impressive comeback last year, but he figures to be overshadowed by newcomer Sydney Rice in the Seahawks' passing offense.

4. Aluminum Pint 0-1, 99 points: I like both Dave's core of Tony Romo, Roddy White, and Chris Johnson, and his depth with Mario Manningham and Ryan Grant.
Up: I think injuries will catch up to Plaxico Burress at some point this season, but the 13th round pick landed in a promising situation with the Jets.
Down: Earnest Graham, a skilled blocking back, got more touches last week than the one-dimensional LeGarrette Blount.

5. The Mighty Kegs 1-0, 102 points: Michael Vick gives Stratis a chance every week, but Mike's WR corps is the worst in the league and the Steven Jackson injury will test his RB depth.
Up: The Philadelphia defense was bad enough to get coordinator Sean McDermott fired last year, but offseason acquisitions make it a force to be reckoned with this season.
Down: When Mike kept him, I thought Reggie Wayne could return to his former status as a top 5 receiver.  Now, with Kerry Collins at the helm, he's a second tier producer at best.

6. Dirty Mike & The Boys: 0-1, 80 points: Colin's depth, with Ben Tate, Kevin Kolb, and Carolina Steve Smith on the bench, will give him an advantage once teams start getting hit with injuries.
Up: Larry Fitzgerald just needs a competent QB to get him the ball.  Kevin Kolb isn't great, but he's better than Max Hall.
Down: Colin traded for Ryan Mathews during the draft and is hoping for a breakout.  But Mile Tolbert's three TDs in Week 1 showed that there's a strict RB committee in San Diego.

7. The Pudgy Pelican Yours Truly, 0-1, 103 points: Selling much of my team last year for draft picks gave me a very good WR committee of Hakeem Nicks, Brandon Lloyd and Brandon Marshall, but, unless Josh Freeman breaks out, QB will be a weakness for me all season.
Up: Maurice Jones-Drew was considered a big injury risk in the preseason, but he has looked very healthy so far.
Down: Deion Branch returned to fantasy relevance last season, compiling 706 yards in 11 games with the Patriots.  However, the Chad Ochocinco signing will surely take away some of his opportunities this season.

8. Father Superior: 1-0, 76 points: If he stays healthy, Matthew Stafford will make Nick look like a genus for trading Aaron Rodgers for Adrian Peterson.
Up: When Nick kept him, there were rumors that Knowshon Moreno would be supplanted in Denver by DeAngelo Williams.  It didn't happen, and Moreno is still the top back for the Broncos.
Down: As a top free agent receiver, going to Seattle with Tavaris Jackson was not the move Nick wanted Sidney Rice to make.

9. Beast Mode 0-1, 83 points: Aaron Rodgers can hold it down, but Hunt needs Arian Foster to return ASAP.
Up: Dwayne Bowe will actually benefit from a free agent weapon joining his team, as Steve Breaston will help draw some coverage away from Matt Cassel's favorite target.
Down: A hamstring injury has already kept Arian Foster out for one game, and the talented Ben Tate will demand touches once Foster does return.

10. Doctor Asshole: 0-1, 66 points: Losing Peyton Manning really hurt Jason, but he has two promising backups in Cam Newton and Colt McCoy.
Up: Back in July, we still didn't know if Vincent Jackson was headed for another holdout.  Now, he's 100% committed to San Diego's high-powered passing game.
Down: The Colts weren't the only ones whose season looks crippled by Peyton Manning.  For the first time since we started our league five years ago, Jason won't have an elite QB to rely on.

11. STD? Fine By Me! 0-1, 58 points: Ward already lacked a top performer before Marques Colston went down with an injury.
Up: Frank Gore was threatening a holdout early in the preseason, but a contract restructuring leaves him free to concentrate on his duties as a workhorse running back.
Down: Peyton Manning's injury might hurt Austin Collie more than any other Colt.  He had zero catches on Sunday.

12. Lambs_of_Combat 1-0, 94 points: Despite being 1-0, the future does not look good for Scott.  His best player is Mike Wallace.
Up: After Marion Barber's departure via free agency, Felix Jones finally gets his shot as the unquestioned lead running back in Dallas.
Down: Scott drafted Jonathan Stewart with his first pick, assuming that DeAngelo Williams wouldn't return to Carolina.  Now, Stewart is once again trapped in a maddening running back committee.
